Rules of natural hair drying

The use of a hot hairdryer can dry out the hair, making it brittle and lifeless. Besides, the hairdryer can become a cause of hair breakage. The effect of high temperatures on the scalp leads to the incorrect work of the sebaceous glands and harms the hair follicles. In contrast to this aggressive procedure, natural hair drying is a much safer process. Of course, it takes more time, but there is no risk of hair overdrying!

If hair remains wet for too long, the inner part of the hair (cortex) swells and can destroy the cuticle – the outer layer of the hair. Besides, wet hair, especially wrapped in a towel, is a fertile environment for the development of bacteria and fungi.

Natural hair drying rules:

- Proper drying starts with washing. Using an anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner will keep your hair from tangling and damaging while drying.

- The first step after washing is using a towel. You shouldn’t rub your hair roughly, it’s enough to gently squeeze the hair. The softer and more absorbent the towel material is, the better. A rough terry towel can be worse than a clean old T-shirt, which absorbs water well and doesn’t damage your hair. Microfiber is considered the perfect material for removing excess moisture after hair washing.

- Don’t wear a towel for more than 10 minutes.

- Divide hair into strands with your fingers or a thin, flat-toothed comb. Don’t comb it with a brush! You can also apply some anti-frizz serum or shine oil spray.
